What is Good Enough Start?
Good Enough Start is a community-driven organisation supporting parents and caregivers in nurturing strong, secure relationships with their babies. Through drop-in groups, 1-1 sessions and expert-led guidance, we help families feel confident, connected, and supported as they navigate the early years.
Who can access your services?
Our support is available to parents, caregivers, and families with babies aged 0-2 years, that live in our catchment area. We welcome everyone, regardless of background or circumstances, and aim to create a warm, inclusive space where all families feel supported.
How much do your services cost?
All of our services, including drop-in groups, 1-1 sessions, and Little Minds Book Club, are completely free thanks to our generous funders.
What kind of support do you offer?
We offer a range of parent-infant support services, including:
- Drop-in Groups
- One-to-one Sessions
- Little Minds Book Club
- Workshops and resources
Why is early parent-infant connection so important?
The first 1,001 days of a baby’s life are crucial for brain development and emotional well-being. Talking, playing, singing, and responding to your baby’s cues help build secure relationships, laying the foundation for their future confidence, relationships, and learning.
What happens at your drop-in sessions?
Our drop-in sessions are relaxed, welcoming spaces where parents and caregivers can:
- Spend quality time with their baby
- Meet other families in a supportive environment
- Learn about early communication, relationships, and baby development
- Get practical tips and reassurance from experienced practitioners
Each session is led by friendly, knowledgeable facilitators who are there to offer guidance, answer questions, and help you feel more confident in your parenting journey.
How do I sign up for a session or service?
Our drop-in groups and services are open to all, with no need to book in advance. However, our 1-1 sessions or workshops require registration. You can check our latest offerings by following us on social media.

Your Choices and Preferences
Photos and Videos
We may take photos or short videos during sessions to share the wonderful things happening in our groups. These might appear on our website, social media, or in leaflets to help other families learn about our work. We will never share your or your child’s name, and you can always say no — it won’t affect your place in the group or the support you receive.
Newsletters and Updates
We’ll keep in touch by email with helpful tips, updates about our groups, and news about events or resources that might interest you. Typically, you can expect to hear from us with a newsletter about once term, so it won’t overwhelm your inbox. Your personal details are completely safe with us, we never share your information with third parties. You can also unsubscribe or update your preferences at any time, so you stay in control of how we communicate with you.
Phone Calls and Messaging
We’ll only contact you about things that matter, such as session reminders, check-ins, or important updates about your group. Calls/texts/Whatsapps will be made during office hours (9-4pm) to respect your time, and we promise not to use your number for marketing or anything unrelated. If you allow us to leave a voicemail – messages will be short, polite, and won’t include sensitive details. You’re always in control and can let us know if your preferences change.
Testimonials and Feedback
We love hearing about your experiences because it helps us improve our services and show other families what our groups are like. If you’re happy to share feedback or a testimonial, we will always keep your identity anonymous unless you give permission to include your name. Nothing will be shared publicly without checking with you first, so you can feel safe being honest and open.
Contacting Other Services
Sometimes, we may need to contact your GP, health visitor, or another healthcare professional, but only if we have concerns about the safety or health of you or your baby. This is very rare, and we would usually discuss our concerns with you first, so you know what’s happening and why. Our aim is always to make sure both you and your little one are safe and supported, and any contact with other professionals is done carefully and respectfully, with your wellbeing as our priority.
I want to update my choices and preferences
You’re always in control of how we contact you and what you’re happy to share. You can update your choices at any time by filling out our Your Choices & Preferences Form. It only takes a few minutes, and your changes will make sure we respect your preferences going forward.
